Document Manager Privacy Policy

Document Manager is a local-first document manager that discovers and manages documents on your device, opens documents from user-added FTP storage, and shares selected pages as images. This policy explains local document data, FTP storage, advertising and analytics SDKs, billing, and deletion methods.

1. Information We Process

The app does not directly collect or send your name, contact details, account information, or document contents to CK Apps Factory servers. The app does not provide account registration, login, or cloud synchronization.

To provide document discovery, indexing, and recent-document features, the app may store the following information in its private device storage:

  • Document URI
  • File name and file type
  • File size
  • Modified date
  • File path
  • Preview text
  • Thumbnail
  • Recent-document and favorite information
  • Reading status and app settings
The app does not index the full contents of documents, and this information is not sent to CK Apps Factory servers.

2. Storage Access and Document Management

The app may use Android storage access to find and manage supported documents on shared internal storage, removable SD cards, and other storage locations authorized by the user.

Depending on the Android version, the app may use:

  • All-files access on Android 11 and later
  • Android system file picker access to folders or storage selected by the user
  • Other Android storage access permissions
Storage access is used locally to discover supported files, read file metadata, open documents, generate thumbnails, create folders, and perform copy, move, rename, and delete operations explicitly started by the user.

Copying, moving, or deleting a folder may also affect other file types contained in that folder. The app displays a warning before permanent deletion.

Documents and folders explicitly deleted through the document management screen may be permanently removed from the selected storage and cannot be restored by the app.

3. FTP Storage

When the user adds an FTP storage, the following connection information may be stored on the device:

  • Server address and port
  • Username
  • Initial directory
  • Connection security mode
  • Character encoding settings
If the user enables the remember-password option, the FTP password is stored on the device using Android Keystore-based encryption. FTP passwords and connection information are not sent to CK Apps Factory servers.

FTP connections may use plain FTP or Explicit TLS, depending on the user’s selected security mode. Plain FTP may not encrypt data during transmission. TLS should be used when a secure connection is required.

Files selected from FTP storage may be temporarily downloaded to the app cache for viewing. Processing performed by the FTP server and handling of remote files are governed by the FTP server operator’s policies.

4. Image Sharing

Only when the user explicitly starts the sharing function, the app temporarily creates selected pages as PNG images or other shareable files in the app cache.

The generated files are passed to the Android system share sheet. Data handling by the selected sharing app or service is governed by that provider’s privacy policy.

Files already shared to another app, messaging service, email service, or cloud storage must be managed and deleted directly through that service.

5. Advertising and Third-Party Services

Advertising-enabled builds may use the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob).

For advertising delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention, AdMob may transmit and process the following information with Google or advertising services:

  • IP address and approximate location inferred from the IP address
  • App interaction information
  • Advertising ID and app set ID
  • Device and operating-system information
  • Advertising and performance diagnostic information
Where required, consent for advertising is requested through Google User Messaging Platform. Users can review or change these choices through the app’s Ad privacy choices menu.

6. App Analytics and Crash Diagnostics

The app may use Google Firebase Analytics and Google Firebase Crashlytics to understand basic app usage and diagnose crashes and application-not-responding errors.

Under Google’s terms, Google may process:

  • App interaction information
  • App instance identifiers
  • Device and operating-system information
  • Approximate location inferred from the IP address
  • Performance information
  • Crash and ANR stack traces
  • Other diagnostic information
The app does not add document contents, file names, or file paths to custom Firebase events or custom Crashlytics keys.

7. In-App Purchases

In-app purchases are processed through Google Play Billing.

The app does not directly collect detailed payment information such as card numbers or bank account details. The app receives product IDs and purchase status to apply premium entitlements such as watermark removal and ad removal.

Payment and transaction data are handled according to Google Play’s policies.

8. Retention and Deletion

The following data may be stored in the app’s private device storage:

  • Document indexes
  • Recent-document and favorite information
  • Thumbnails and preview information
  • App settings
  • FTP connection profiles
  • Remembered FTP passwords
  • Temporary sharing and FTP download files
App-local data can be deleted through:
  • Android Settings > Apps > Document Manager > Storage & cache > Clear storage
  • Uninstalling the app
  • The app’s FTP storage edit and delete functions
  • The document and folder deletion functions in the app
Clearing app data or uninstalling the app does not delete the user’s original documents or remote files stored on an FTP server.

Documents and folders explicitly deleted through the app may be permanently removed from the selected storage and cannot be restored.

Data processed by Google AdMob, Firebase, and Google Play is managed separately according to each service’s policies and privacy settings.
